19-year old, Brighton-born Conor Maynard caused a sensation on YouTube, covering songs by some of his inspirations including Ne-Yo, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Kings Of Leon, his version of Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl’ chalked up almost four million views alone.
After provoking label interest on both sides of the Atlantic he signed to Parlophone in November 2010 and is currently in the studio with A-list producers/writers to start work on his debut album.
Already a success online – Conor’s talents have been recognised by other artists including Ne-Yo who wanted to fly him out to Atlanta to sign him and Chris Brown who tweeted “check this boy out ….he killed it!” after seeing Conor’s version of 3X on YouTube.
A young Justin Timberlake meets the soulfulness of Nero – a more ‘pop’ , less street, Chris Brown. Conor Maynard is just at the beginning of his musical career and we expect his sound and style to develop as he grows and changes. Ideally we want him writing as many songs as possible further sealing his image as a credible and talented artist.
