Dubstep producer and Grammy-nominated artist Skrillex is following the trend of major recording artists composing film scores. He was choosen to score Selena Gomez’s upcoming film release Spring Breakers.
Spring Breakers is a movie of four college students who encounter Alien on their quest for a most excellent spring break, set to be premiere in 2012.
Skrillex posted on twitter that “it’s more or less traditional scoring … dont expect dance floor bangers! going great … very different style of production for me!“
“I think this film is going to turn a lot of heads in many ways. It was a lot of fun to work with Harmony because he gave me the freedom and trust to do whatever I wanted,” Skrillex said.
“Scoring to film is definitely a different approach to music making in the sense that it’s not so much about how the music sounds by itself as it is finding ways to compliment the vibe of the film.“
