M.I.A. will release her latest single, “Bring the Noize“.
This will be her first single since “Bad Girls,” which was slated for her fourth album Matangi.
According to the preview of the said song, “Bring the Noize” is a high-energy, propulsive banger.
While Matangi was originally due out last December, M.I.A.’s label instructed her to “darken it up a bit.” (“It’s like ‘We just built you up as the public enemy No. 1 and now you’re coming out with all this positive stuff,’” she said.) She has since described Matangi as “Paul Simon on acid,” while producer Hit-Boy (Britney Spears‘“Scream & Shout” remix, Watch the Throne‘s “Paris”) revealed that the two of them worked on seven songs together.
M.I.A. will unleash “Bring the Noize” on DJ Zane Lowe‘s BBC Radio 1 show.
